These terms cover the ShareRides website and the ShareRides app. Last updated 22 September 2026. The same text is shown in both places. ShareRides will operate as a product of DailyJobs OPC Private Limited.
ShareRides will operate as a product of DailyJobs OPC Private Limited. These terms are between you and that company. They apply to the website and to the iOS and Android apps. The website is for company information and contact. It does not take seat bookings and it does not publish rides. Booking a seat and publishing a ride are done only in the mobile app. You must be 18 or older to create an account.
ShareRides is car pooling software. A captain publishes empty seats on a trip. A passenger requests those seats and travels on the same route. ShareRides is not a taxi service, a contract-carriage operator, or an on-demand cab aggregator. It does not employ captains. The captain and the passengers make the journey. ShareRides provides the software used to find the ride, book the seat, and follow the trip. A published ride in the app is an offer of seats. It is a confirmed seat only when the booking says so.
Give a correct name, mobile number, and gender. Keep your login private. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share the account, sell it, or let someone else publish rides in your name. We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that gives false details, harasses another person, misuses live location or SOS, or breaks these terms. You can delete the account in the app under Settings. You can also email info@sharerides.in or in.sharerides@gmail.com and ask us to delete it.
For a trip driven in Telangana, captains and passengers must follow the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the rules made under it, and the directions of the Transport Department, Government of Telangana. The same duty applies under the law of any other state in which the vehicle is driven. A captain may publish a ride only with a valid driving licence for that vehicle class, a valid registration certificate, a valid pollution certificate where one is required, and the permit and fitness certificate where that vehicle and that use require them. The captain uploads a clear photo of the licence. ShareRides does not ask the captain to type the licence number. The licence photo is reviewed before the captain can publish. The seat price is a contribution toward the trip. It is not a metered taxi fare. If that trip needs a permit or an aggregator authorisation, the captain must not publish it until the authorisation is in place. We may remove the ride or suspend the account if these conditions are not met.
The captain’s vehicle must carry the compulsory third-party insurance required by the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. That policy is the captain’s. ShareRides does not insure the trip, does not issue a policy, and does not decide claims. Passengers should not treat a booking as proof that any cover beyond the captain’s statutory policy is in force.
A captain cannot publish a live ride until ShareRides has verified the captain and the vehicle. The captain states the brand, model, colour, plate number, and whether the plate is white (private) or yellow (commercial), and uploads the registration certificate and photos of the vehicle. The vehicle must be roadworthy for that trip: brakes, lights, and tyres in working order, and no more passengers than the seats allow. The captain is responsible for that condition and for driving lawfully. Passengers must give accurate traveller names, be at the agreed public pickup point, and treat the captain and other passengers respectfully. A request is not a confirmed seat until it is accepted, unless that ride is set to instant booking. Phone numbers are shown to the other party only after a seat is confirmed. Chat on a booking is only for the people on that booking. Do not use it for abuse, fraud, or an unlawful request. We may remove a message, a ride, or an account that breaks these terms.
A passenger may withdraw a request that is still pending. After a seat is confirmed, the passenger asks to cancel and the captain accepts or keeps the booking. A captain may cancel a passenger or a published ride. Seats are released when the cancel is completed. ShareRides does not collect the passenger’s fare. Any cash contribution is settled directly between the passenger and the captain. A captain’s platform dues, if any, are cleared by writing to info@sharerides.in. Nothing on the website is an offer to sell a seat.
Use the ride PIN, live location sharing, and SOS on an active trip. The women-driver filter and the women co-passenger filter are search options. They are not a promise that a trip is safe. Meet at the agreed public point. Leave the trip if something is wrong. Report it to info@sharerides.in or in.sharerides@gmail.com. Misusing SOS or a tracking link is a breach of these terms.
DailyJobs OPC Private Limited provides the ShareRides software. We are not the carrier and we are not a party to the journey. To the extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for delay, accident, injury, loss of property, or a dispute between users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
We may update these terms. The date on this page is the date of the current version. If you keep using ShareRides after an update, you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction, except where a statute gives you a right that cannot be waived.
